Wheat

The wheat breeding program at Nordic Seed aims to create new wheat varieties with superior yields, improved agronomic traits, enhanced disease resistance and quality for different industrial purposes.

Major breeding activities that include selection and yield trials are conducted at our station on the island of Lolland. Varieties that prove successful then move on to testing at our three trial stations in Denmark, which have different soil properties and climate conditions. During final selection, they are tested for winter hardiness by our Baltic partners.

The purpose of our breeding program is to develop new varieties with improved agronomic traits for the market every year.
